What's it all about then. Well, it all begins with the selection of a theme park which you much either develop from scratch or rescue from being so crap. You have a set time limit from which to complete your mission goal. If you ever played Transport Tycoon you will recognize the look and feel. Its similar to sim city in the respect that the area you build on is split in to many small tiles. Each ride, shop or anything in fact, you build will take a number of tiles.
You gain money from the rides and shops you build. You can even make on ride photos to sell at the usual expensive theme park profits.
The sounds are just like being in a real theme park, and the graphics are useful, but not always top notch. The developers have decided to keep the game playable rather than opt for the awkward 3D like Theme Park World.
The AI is sometimes a little iffy since guests will ride on the coaster at £20 a ride until the ride excitement rating as been set by the coaster going around a number of times, which means you can make a fortune from some rides.
It may of been nice to have a ride your ride thing like Theme Park, but this would only be an extra for a brilliant well thought out game. Its a pity we don't have more games like this to play.
Overall
Rollercoaster Tycoon was in my opinion, the best Rollercoaster game ever made, and its variety will make you want more and more. If you don't have it buy it, since its probably really cheap now its been out a while.
